Hello, I'm Aleksandra
From my very first steps at five, dance has been my language — how I move through the world and connect with people. Here's the story that brought me to Sydney, and to you.
Granddaughter of a dance-floor king.
I was born in Oslo to a Polish family, and took my first belly dance steps at five while we were living in Iran — and I never stopped.
Theatre stages, fire shows, national podiums and European titles later, I've brought a whole life of dance home to Sydney. Everything I teach comes from real, lived experience — authentic technique across all the styles belly dance holds, learned over decades, not weekends.
Whether you're stepping into your very first class or booking a performance for your celebration, that's what you're dancing with: someone who has given her life to this art, and would love nothing more than to share it with you.
I teach with real rigour — authentic belly dance is a serious skill, and I honour it properly — but always in a warm, encouraging space where it's safe to wobble, laugh and grow.
I meet you exactly where you are: your body, your pace, your goals. The choreography bends to you — you never have to bend to it. Because dance should feel like freedom, and the best classes end with sore cheeks from smiling.
I have a big dance background — including theatre, pantomime and contemporary dance — so nothing here is boxed into a single style. We start wherever you are, even if that means starting with the music itself.
Moving more freely, week by week — posture, hips, spine, and the ease that comes with them.
With my athletic background I can weave strength and conditioning into your dancing, if that’s what you want.
Hearing the beat and letting your body answer it. This is where we begin if rhythm has never felt natural to you.
That’s genuinely welcome. I’ve introduced dancing to people who had never really listened to music before — we take it from the very first beat.
The reason most people stay. Dance as the part of the week you actually look forward to.
Contemporary movement and expression — part of my own training, and lovely to teach.
Street styles, and house especially — groove, footwork and feeling the music in your whole body.
The sharpness, the isolations, the showmanship. One of my favourite things to teach.
Bachata, wedding first dances, Latin and waltz — learning to move together, not just side by side.
And all of its styles — the dance I grew up in, from my very first lessons at age five.
And really — anything you want. Between dance, theatre, pantomime and contemporary training, there is usually a way in. Tell me what moves you and chances are we can dance it together — just ask about private lessons. If it’s the belly dance styles you’re curious about, they live over on performances.
